I have a '76 F100 with AC. The fan motor is sounding a little unhealthy. How do I remove the motor and fan to service/change? It appears to be rivetted together. As well, how do I get the AC/heater housing to clear the inner fender well?

Thanks,

You don't. The blower fan and heater core are serviced from the passenger compartment.
This procedure is straight, word for word, verbatum from the 1976 Ford published factory service manual.
Both the heater core and blower motor have to come out from under the dash. It's not a fun job from what I've heard. Been putting off replacing the core in my truck, but it's gettin' a little cold, so i'll be having fun soon as well.
Here's the tech article that covers replaceing the core: link
It's nice too know that the housing isn't suppose to come out. I thought I'd lost my touch. Usually, I can take apart just about anything. Putting together is a different story. I have a lot of 'leftover' parts from past projects.
Seriously, thanks for the link. I haven't gotten the hang of doing searches yet.
