I have a 92 F150 and it has manual door locks and windows. Is it possible to add electric locks? I guess what I'm wondering is if I go out and get door panels with electric lock switches, the lock motors themselves, and assuming I can even install this stuff, will it just plug in to what I have for a wiring harness and then work?
I converted my '91 F150 to factory power locks/windows. There is a harness that goes across the truck up at the top of the dash that your truck won't have, so the answer to your question is no. You also won't find door panels with just locks, it's either both PL and PW or none at all. If you want the factory-type setup, I recommend you find a parts truck. That's how I did mine, I bought both doors and all the wiring and then swapped everything.
If you just want PL, it would be a lot easier to buy one of those kits from eBay. You don't need a switch that way, it just senses when you push the lock up or down and then locks or unlocks the other side accordingly. More like what they call "central locking" on European cars.
