02 4.0 idling issue
i just got a 02 4.0 4x4 super cab 2 weeks ago. it's been getting worse lately, but it seems like once the engine is warm, if i sit still or at a light too long, it does not idle correctly. it usually idles around 600/700 rpm, but it will hicup every 10 or 20 seconds anywhere from 500 up to 1000. it's still under warranty and i am going to take it in one of these day, but i was wondering if anyone had any guesses.

I have a 2000 Ranger super cab. I now have the same problem, but that was after I changed the spark plugs with one I purchased from the Ford Dealer. When I questioned the parts guy about the Part number of the new plugs verses the number on the old ones, he said they were the replacement for the old ones. I going to look at other parts stores to see if I can find the original one. Hope they fix your truck..
