I think it was Bear on another thread that mentioned using an unlit propane torch turned up just enough to hear it. Run it around the intake edges and carb base, other areas of concern and listen for a change in RPM..
Not me. I was a volunteer firefighter for years and propane is way to dangerous, explosion wise for that use. I actually saw a 5 gallon propane tank "blevie" (blow up) once and it scared the hell out of me.

Use a little propane torch (Like for sweating pipes). Make sure the car is started and wormed up. Turn on your gas on the torch (don't light it). Then go around the intake and the base of the carb with it. If your idle picks up.......YOU GOT A LEAK LOL. I hope this helps.
