Yep. The cracks will get worse until it breaks something or leaks all of its fluid out through the cracks. It _can_ be pretty ugly if the TC fails abrutly.
Have the driveshaft checked and see about having the cracks welded.
So have the drive shaft rebalanced? Is that done on the truck or off the truck. It's completely removed right now. I am changing all the U-Joints as part of this maintenannce down time.
They look like small fractures (probably from metal fatigue) that radiate out from the input shaft hole in the case. The truck runs real smooth. I would have never known except I pulled the drive line out to inspect everything and fix some engine fluid leaks. So, I think I will keep an eye on it and inspect about every 3 months to see if they are changing over time. These hairline cracks can only be seen with the unit disconnected from the transmission.
