I've kicked that around myself. You can find them cheap enough but need to buy a tool to setup and check the backlash when your done and they aren't cheap.
I have found that new guys (girls), that take time to follow direction, do a pretty good job with gear set-ups. The ones that have done it a few times, and take a short cut or two, that make the big mistakes. Any mistake in a differential is big eventually. It really is not that difficult, gotta get your feet wet sometime.
Try it, you will never know til ya do.
IMHO, it's much easier, and maybe even cheaper just to get another axle that has LSD, especially if the car is a daily driver, The possible downside of that it that the LSD may be worn. I don't know how you use your car, but you might want to think about a selectable locker instead.
check the backlash before taking the original diff out.the new diff needs to be set up with the same backlash.
edit-read that link blurry posted.that'll walk you thru everything
