Disconnect the tuner and see if that clears it up. If not, disconnect the batteries or clear the code with the tuner than drive stock to see if the CEL/SES/MIL light comes back. Or, just drive it like it is because there is no such code and no symptoms.
Hi guys,
I also have a Hypertech tuner on a 01' F-350 diesel and just changed programs tonight and P1AEE came up. I didn't even have any dashboard lights on (no check engine). I hope it is nothing.
Its more then likely a "nothing code" Just a code that will come on because of the tuner. Usually "nothing codes" will be there and not throw a SES light Like in "G money"s case... Definitely worth looking into though. Go swing by your local auto store and ask them to scan it with there scanner. Have them do this with and with out it being programmed... Oh and by the way
Welcome!!! To FTE!!!
I had the same error code, plus the P0008 error code present after 4 years of running the Hypertech at stage 2 on my F350 turbodiesel. Symptoms were truck felt like running on 4 cylinders when shifting to 4th gear. Symptoms got worse in 1 day and truck idled very rough and missing was felt eventually in every gear.. Whenever truck dies or runs bad, the rule always is to change the Cam Position Sensor. I did that and 15 minutes later (I've done this before !), truck runs great again. So, change the cam position sensor when these error codes pop up on the Hypertech DTC codes. It will cost you $25 to find out if this was the problem. Good luck.
