Howdy folks. Since the rear end finally let go with 220,000 hard-driven miles, I decided while I'm waiting on the new spider/side gears to arrive, I would see about fixing my leaf spring problem.
The speedbumbs behind my school are deadly... and I forgot about one of them one day. Nevertheless, I saw two pieces of flat steel bouncing behind my truck after I hit it.
I think I will probably just replace all the springs, since breaking the ones on either side has over time bent the main leafs. Any ideas on where to get cheap ones? Would I be better off hittin a bone yard or what? Thanks in advance.
I didn't even think about the Bronco graveyard Alz, thanks for bringin that up. Looks like a pretty good deal.
Vman- I looked at JC Whitney also. How much did you pay per set?
Now this brings me to my next question. I've got the towing package which adds the overload spring on my current set. Is my overload spring able to be used with the set from Broncograveyard and or JC whitney, or will I have to do away with it? I'd rather have it in. Any ideas?
I honestly don't remember what I paid.It was cheaper than anyone else. They probably went up since then. They rode nice until I put the add a leaf in,now it rides like a real truck.
