Keyless Entry Code

I just purchased an 04 F150, used from the dealer. It was actually a Lexus dealership so they dont do any kind of work on Fords. They didn't have the factory keycode, so I was wondering if anyone knows about how to get it so I can reset it from the one the previous owner had? Thanks a lot

On the SCrew and SCab the module is located behind the rear seat, and you'll have to remove it to get to it.

Or you may be lucky enough to have the card with the code on it thats in the pouch with your owner's manual.

Yup, I should have stated that. There's a sticker on the module with the code.

And the only way to get to that, is by removing the seat? I checked the owners manual, and even called Ford. They said it needed to be taken to a dealership and put on diagnostics. Thanks for the input, its a great help!

And mine is a Roush supercrew, so it is the same as the orignal F150 supercrews obviously, I'm assuming?

As far as the keyless entry is concerned, yes its just like a regular supercrew. Typically if you have to go to the dealer it'll cost you, looking behind the seat will only cost you time.

YES you have to remove the seat. The module is behind the rear seat back on the Supercrew. If you know someone at your dealership (FORD) they can pull it for you in about 30 seconds. Thats how I got mine. I purchased my truck used from a Dodge dealer and have all my service work done at one particular Ford Dealer. They pulled it for me with no questions asked and for $0!

You just have to remove the seatback only. If you do a search on "how to remove supercrew back seat you will find lots of info. This is a picture of my backseat once I fugured it out. There are two clips that have to be release. That is the second picture....Sorry for the size

Just thought that I would throw in my two cents on this. Yes the module does have the code on it. However the question that was asked was about changing the code from what the previous owner had. The ONLY way to do that is to have the dealer order a new module and have it installed. I checked into this when I got divorced. I forget how much it costed for the module. It was not that cheap, I do remember. Good luck with your truck.

You can change the code to whatever you want it to be. You do need the factory code to do this though. You can over write the factory code with your own personal code and be done with it. The only way to change it again is to enter the old personal code, then the factory code and then your new code. You can have the code any way you want it. This is explained in the owners manual. If your Ex knows the factory code and you over write it with your own code then she is not going to get in.

No- the module replacement isn't correct. The dealer can read the code built into the ECM. We do it all the time. From '05 on, it's the only way to get the code.

Correction: The factory code will always work. If you program your own code that will work as well as the factory. The EX will be able to get in if she/(he) knows the factory code.

1. enter your factory code
2. press the 1/2 button
3. withing 5-10 seconds, enter your own 5 digit code.
4. the locks will cycle to confirm entry
5. use the new code you inputed

side note, don't use the factory code again unless you need to reset your personall code. if you're like me, you'll accidently press the 1/2 button and reset by accident.

and the factory code will always work, you cannot change it unless you install a brand new module
