Speedo Problem Part 2
I had posted earlier in the month concerning the speedo acting up on my 2002 F350. I changed the VSS on top of the rear hub as suggested , but to no avail. The speedo works typically like this 0 - 30 fine , once it hits 30 it drops like a stone and stays on 0 until I come to a stop , then it starts over again. If I am @ 60 - 70 mph on the highway (guessing by the tach reading) it starts acting up , going back and forth and eventually works. Once I stop, it all starts over again.

The speedometer itself is microprocessor controlled, so if it's bad you'll have to replace the entire gauge cluster. I think that on the auto tranny's one of those sensors also effects the speedo signal, but somebdy else will have to confirm that. You can also trace the wiring from the VSS all the way forward to make sure it isnt pinched/shorted somewhere.
