Has anyone ever heard about someone routing the filler for the gas tank through a the stake bed pocket? Would this be a saftey problem? I don't want some clown bumping into my stake packet and blowing up my truck, these pockets seem strong enough to handle it though. And where could I get a hose for this? Would the coolent hoses from the local parts stores work? Is there a place I can get longer hoses from? Am I a moron for thinking about this? Thanks.

As long as you can do it without nasty bends or downsizing the fillpipe you would probably be OK. I think it would be a trick to avoid these pitfalls though. It could end up being a hassle to fill up the tank. As far as a safety issue, I don't see where it would be substantially more dangerous than many other OEM applications. The hose needs to be rated for fuel exposure, I don't believe radiator hose would be my first choice.
