Greetings from Germany !!!:-)

My take is that a truck has to have a bench. My 54 came with some odd seats and I have finally a bench in it again (... and luckily one from a Ford).

My stock bench seat is in pretty good condition, only one tear in it. I'm going to keep it and put a seat cover over it.

I use Mustang II buckets cause they were the closest I could find to the '60s style buckets. Work great. On the other hand, I rode in a new Crysler something with some pretty seats, had power adjusting in all directions, and heat! O' man gotta get me some, and they look like they may fit. Has the picture perfect look, to me at least. Sorry about my babbling, I'll stop now.

I prefer a bench seat because buckets take away too much originality. Even though my 48 will be a street rod, I still want the original look on the outside and change only the suspension and drive train.

I prefer a column shifter so I won't have to bother with the floor, but if I were going the floor shifter route, I would go with a Lokar or Gennie shifter as it gives you the look of an original shifter. I have hidden radios in the glove box, but what's the point if you run an outside antenna? Also, you lose the function of the glove box so you have to look elsewhere for a place to put your small stuff. What about hanging it under the dash? Do you really have to have a radio? A lot of these old trucks never did.

i was looking at a hidden antennae so no outside antenae. the glovebox i want for small stuff. i want the dash to stay clean so i dont want it under there either, i was thinking hiding one in a console. but i may go the route of bench with floor shifter to look like original, or buckets and console i havn't decided.

Those hidden antennas don't work all that well. A console would really detract as much from an original look as the bucket seats.

An electric antennae is a little more stealth. I had considered a hidden antennae in the headliner but I am inclined to agree with Vern on the performance. OEM would probably stuff them in the dash if it worked well.

hey there 41..

I Put in my "new" seats for my 50 F 1 panel, found a pair of 2000 crysler 300m leather bucket seats, at a local u pull it... 60.00 for the pair, pwr tilt, recline, heated, and memory seats... boy are they comfy. will post pics tommorrow. They fit very well and have approx 12" between them. mounted them on some Pedestals from a mini van.

Ahhh!!! I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy!
Whoa, $60, where are you located I gotta talk to them, I payed $40 for my MIIs (in crappy shape), and I'm dating the owners daughter! I don't even think that we those get wrecked around here. The few around here are drivin by elder ladys who stay under 5mph. Man, I wanna see the pics. Are they mounted pretty far back since you have a panel? Can you give me a measurement or estimate on how far back the back of the seat sets by way of the back of the door or something (when it's in comfy mode of course)? Ohh, that's so cool. Thanks.
