I Need Help with VIN number
I just bought a 1977 Ford F250 4x4, the vin # is F26SN(2)25952. I think the 2 should be a Z. It is really hard to read on the inside of the door, is there any other place to find the vin number stamped?
I would like to find the original decoding of this vin number. Any known websites to find this information.

S -Engine -400
N - Plant built at - Norfolk Va
Z(?)25952- Consecutive built number. ( I haven't see a 77 go past the letter Y.)
Most of the codes from your rating plate can be decoded on my page here.

The other VIN# spots are ther top of the frame rail between the rad support & firewall on the passenger side .....as well as under the cab same side.
One of the members on this forum is setting up a Vin Decoder

Plus, FTE is in the stages of having a vin decoder available soon.
But right now, my page is the best you'll find

I found the original metel tag after you open the hood, screwed to the fire wall.
It reads
154 F26SNZ25952 55
M 33 4 F O9H
Does any one know what all the other stuff means?

Okay, I found another 77 truck with a Z related Vin Number.
It took me close to an hour of looking for it : (
so ...the tag under the hood
Well that is all plant assembly line info to make sure everything that is supposed to be on it..... is on it .
It's called a buck tag
154 = ?
55 - DSO code - St. Louis
M = color- Wimbledon white
33 = ?
4 = styleside box
F = Transmission - 4 spd
09H = Probably the Rear axle - 4.11
What does the sticker on the door jamb say about the truck ?

Just wanted to thank Mil1ion in advance for his quick decoder ring special. I'm picking up a 78 F100 tomorrow morning. I'll be asking some question and having a decoder page like your's answered numerous info beyond the lmc vender catalog.
