Three years and 103,000 miles for the first one and the next four within 8 months and 20,000 miles of that. So far $3,100. Maybe it would be better to change all 8 at 100,00 miles. Better meaning cheaper. No towing and the mechanics can do it all at the same time. Is there after market injectors that might last longer?

I know that you can buy REBUILT injectors, but as for quality and cost, I haven't the foggiest clue.

actually both. the orings on the top of the injecters can start leaking, causing no starts, and the injectors them self can be bad or weak, orings can rupture, (usually due to improper torque), or electrically fail.
