I when and tried to start my 78 I first tuned the ignition on (for the electric fuel pump) and pumped the gas twice and she just cranked and cranked, I listened for the electric and crawled underneath the truck and hear it (loaded) pushing fuel, so i then popped the hood and looked at my clear filter before the mech pump, to my surprise it was dry!!!!!(WTH) I hear the elec pump but no fuel in the clear fuel filter up by the motor, Could It be a clogged filter before the electric pump I JUSt put the filter/pump in , but it has one of those cheesy brass tiny filters. I got it started by starting it like I used to before the electric pump install(pump the gas a billion times) while cranking and it fired up and ran fine. I shut it down and restarted fine also.
IT makes NO sense????I did check the direction of the flow on the pump and it was correct. The truck sits about 6 days before I start it
HELP,
dustin
78 300 with electric fuel pump installed
