I am thinking about replacing my transmission. I think the torque converter is slipping a little when I am towing my tt which weighs in at 11,500 loaded. What do you guys think? I don't want to replace a torque converter and then have the tranny go bad. I have the 2001 I guess it has the diode problem. My mods are AFE stage II intake, Jody chip, MBRP 4in exhaust, Bilstein shocks, gauges, 35in tires. I appreciate your thoughts.

How many miles on tranny?
Also keep in mind, when a converter goes, the pump processes all those particulates thru the rest of the tranny.
If your gonna pull it and put a good converter in it....have the tranny gone thru.

Well, I am looking for a good excuse and extra money to get a factory tech monster in a box. If you need to replace one, it seems like the way to do it. I think they are going for $2500 with torque converter and built heavier than a stock diesel trans. I am thrilled with my FT valvebody, I can only imagine what they do to a trans and t/c.
