Transmission bolt up

Hey I have a 460 from a 76 or so ford truck, and I was wondering if anyone knows if a transmission from a newer ford, one with overdrvie, would bolt up to this older motor? What would I need for electronics, if anything from the newer system?

Thanks for the link dennis, I guess according to that link it wont bolt up, only a newer tranny will bolt to a newer motor, thanks!

physically it will bolt up they never changed the bellhousing patterns on the 460s, but the issue is with the electronics. I can't tell you were to get it but I have heard of stand alone electronic systems to run the E4OD trans in an older pickup maybe someone else can give more on that.
