Solid Bed Cover Or Retractable ?

I am waiting to get an 2008 f250 king ranch and am wanting a lockable bed cover . do you recommend the solid fiberglass covers or the retractable cover and why ? what brands are best ?

Depends on your situation; if the cover will be on most of the time “for improved fuel economy” I would choose a solid cover. I would go with retractable if using the bed frequently. There are lots of styles to fit just about any condition. I’m still in the research mode for my choice. I’ve found a few I like but there for short beds.

I don't like fibreglass, it scratches to easy, doesn't support any weight, needs waxing and regular washing. They are high maintance with little benefit. I have had three retractables over the last 8 years. Pace Edwards is my personal prefrence, currently I have the bedlocker and I love it. With a retractable you can carry almost anything with out having to take off the cover, the full metal PE covers respond very well to hand washing and need no further attention, and you can set things on top of it with out worrying.

I went hard cover for the looks , but the soft and retractable type are hands down better ,if you use your truck as a truck !

I've got the Leer 700 fiberglass and really like the looks. It's removeable, but heavy. So far it's been trouble free, so I'm a happy customer.
