NO GALLERY FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, that is IT! DO NOT EVER ask me again to post any pictures in my ^%$#&$*$*# gallery! (edited by admin)

Tried to post pics. Sorry, Bozo, your connection is too slow. I shelled out $80 for a new modem and got my connection stabilized. Try again, Fool! Now your file size is too friggin' big! Dinked with the photo software until I figured out how to reduce the resolution to get it within the limits. Guess what, LOSER? Now your image is more than 1024 pixels wide! Forget it!

To those of you who offered to doctor my pics, I appreciate the offers, but I was kind of looking forward to being able to add to and delete from my gallery at will and maybe write a couple of photographically documented tech articles. That's pretty tough to do if I have to jet the ^%$#? pics all over cyberspace to have them tweaked and polished to meet the ate-up standards of this website.

It shouldn't be this damned hard to post a couple of lousy pictures on a website. Browse, point, click, BANG! That should be it. Well, not for FTE! No, no, no! You have to PROVE that you want a pic hanging here! You better be ready to jump through a few hoops first! We only accept files in the JPEG format that are not more than 23 bytes and a maximum size of 3.5 total pixels. And you had BETTER have a note from your mother!

I usually try to be grateful for having this place to hang out in and keep my mouth shut when I don't agree with the management. Not this time. I guess I really don't need a gallery, FTE didn't really ever want any tech articles about IFS and rearend installations, and I should just go hide in the shop and sulk for awhile.

NO GALLERY FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!

There are currently 7527 photos in 1998 albums contained in 4963 galleries

Joe

You ever had a problem with your truck that should be easy but seemed unsolvable? Ever had to ask somebody for a hand. It happened to me once. I remember a wiper motor with three stupid wires that gave me trouble. There is some guy here trying to help me get it working. Now just go cool off and we'll solve it some other day.

NO GALLERY FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Just step away from the computer, and no one (or anything) will get hurt

If it makes you fee any better I've had my fair share of computer issues in the past week, the most recent being it deciding that the presentation I had created using powerpoint was corrupt, and I had to redo the whole thing (a semester long project) the night before. Machines just seem to know when something is important and decides to see just how mad they can get the human that is using them All I can say is take a break from trying and maybe give it another shot some other day.

Now if we could only find a way of disconnecting the "emotion sensor" that is hidden in all computers this would be a much happier world. Hope this may lighten the mood a bit.

Jon

Chill ------we have language guidelines here that must be abided by.

Is it really fair to take pot shots at us because we don't accept files that would take modem users 5 minutes to view and require 90 inch monitors? More 70% of Internet users are using slow dialup modems and more than half have screen resolutions of only 800x600 or less. The limits we set are extremely generous by Internet image standards. Resize to 800x600 with 80% image quality and save it as a JPG image. Most images on the net are probably 480x400 and smaller with 75% image quality. The system accepts JPGs, GIFs and PNG because they are the only image types universally accepted by browsers. These settings will work beautifully with great image results: remember this is a truck photo gallery, not nuclear submarine blueprice graphic archive.

Ken is right. I deserve to have my knuckles rapped with a ruler. I got carried away. I hope you will all accept my apologies. The photo software I'm using makes me do all the adjustments manually so it's completely trial and error. I don't have the option to adjust to a specific resolution or image quality. Apparently I need to get something different.

No problem.... I'm kicking back smoking a nice cigar now and nothing is bothering me. I understand and I'm prone to my moments (you ought to see the scathing email I sent to someone I've been having problems with at Ebay). Any way, if you want great image software check out http://www.jasc.com/ --- Paintshop Pro is what I use.

Joe, dunno what photo pgm you have but most will post a 50-65K Jpeg image if you resize it 6 to 7" wide @ 72 pixels. Height changes automatically.
After you edit and save go in and check "Properties" If 7" is too big its usually due to a real busy/cluttered backround.

If your pointing with a digital camera set the resolution first to a lower quality. My old Kodak DC280 has Good/Better/Best. Good is still too much for uploads so I resize down.

I should post my junk here sometime when I get in the mood to allow you guys to see them raw and original!
The 54 is a work truck.
