Possible Problem??

This has been the first chance I have towed with my current mods. Equipped with my 9K travel trailer, the family and I embarked on a camping get-away. I have to say that my truck is a pulling monster! However, when it came to the hill that I always had to back off the throttle for EGT issues, I had a problem. About half way up the hill,(Gear=OD,EGT=1100,MPH=60, RPM=2200,tranny temp 125,boost 20psi) the tach shoots to 3400 and the truck stops pulling and starts to slow. As soon as I let off the throttle it seemed to jump back in gear and starts pulling again. It pulled just fine the rest of the way to our desination.

Does this sound like my poor 4R100 slipped in OD? Has anyone experienced this? I was pulling with the 80 tow setting. Thanks guys.

somehow it seems as if the tranny slipped out of gear, into what, 2nd gear? shifting from OD at 2200 RPM to 3rd will not cause an inrease in RPM to 3400, so i must have bounced off the rev limiter at 2nd gear. in a manual transmission i would say it would be a gear pop out and the engine rev's to the rev limiter in "neutral"

did you hear any abnormal noises before, at the time, or after the tranny slipped out of gear?

time to start saving up $3900.

Chris we need to hook up to AE and see how much slippage you have unloaded. Could be an early warning but hopefully just an electrical hickup

On edit: I think Kris is right Chris it does sound like it threw itself in neutral for a second i'm leaning toward electrical.

Kris- no noises or anything, it was just for a split second until I lifted my foot off the throttle and as soon as I got back on it she pulled just fine up the hill. I will tell you one thing, I have never been able to pull that hill at 60mph before.

Alan- I think I'll take you up on that offer when I get a chance, the EGTs are going to blow your mind. It seems the EGTs stop and hold steady once I hit 2000rpm no matter how much fuel I throw at it. It was a night and day difference in towing this trip, compaired to my last.
