transmission problems
hello everybody I am new here, been driving ford trucks since i was 16 im 28 now. MY problem is i just finished putting a clutch in my 90 f150 4x4 this is the first truck i have had that wasnt in the 70s so I am not familiar with the tranny i took the shifter out b4 i took out trans because i didnt know how to take just the stick out. when i had tranny on the bench i had to top off to inspect the in sides i think i had it in neutral when i removed the shifter but i guess i put it in gear when the top was off now that it is all back in the truck i put hte shifter back in and it wont shift into any gear it basically doesnt move at all its not tight like i jammed something it just wont move do i have to get it back into nuetral before i put shifter back? any help would be greatly appricated! by hte way it is the m5od tranny.
