No, it works like evry other pedal, check your tb and stuff, see if it's got play in the cable, or if it's something internal.

Get down under the dash, and look at the top of the gas pedal(take a pair of pliers with you), and lift the pedal from the bottom so the very top is against the firewall, then take your pliers and grab the cable end and gentlly pull to see how much slack you have in the cable. If its more than half an inch, thats a lot. Open the hood to make sure the cable is routed correctly(no sharp bends, kinks, or twists). You can replace the cable, or do like I did. Go to your hardware store and get those cable stays that you can crimp on your cable to take up the slack. You can crimp them on right behind the the cable end when you have the gas pedal up against the firewall. If they pull through the opening at the top of the pedal, you can try to put a washer on the cable(slotted) and then gently squeeze the washer to desired size. Works on my truck, as I did this 4 years ago. You must leave some slack for the throttle body to operate properly-ie; shut down, idle control, cruise control, so you don't want snap it up tight, but leave a little slack(1/8 to 1/4 should be good)....
