Question Accelerator troubles

my recently acquired '54 f100 has a 289/c4 that my uncle built 9 yrs ago. he and my cousin rigged an accelerator to fit the stock 2-barrel (i know, i don't get the 2-barrel either!). This setup does not work! does anyone know where i could find an accelerator assembly that would fit (and work) if i upgraded to an edelbrock intake and holley 4-barrel?
thanks, Jay

There is company called "Lokar" that sells adjustable setups that some use. I made my setup from a Fiero pedal and rod and some linkages I had lying around the place. Took a few hours but I much prefer to fabricate than purchase....it is theraputical....I hope I spelled that right.

You say Lokar like it is some off-brand or something I was thinking of switching to lokar, but the Cheeseball homemade throttle linkage on my truck at the moment worked fine after a little tweaking. However, on my buddies 71 cuda, his cheeseball throttle linkage didn't turn out so well, and he is using the lokar kit and it is wonderful, and looks very klean. Yes, it is so klean it gets a k instead of a c. (no not really, I don't know what happened there, but the point is is that it doesn't look cheeseball.)

Sov...I doubt if he meant anything negative about Lokar; just used good English which is not very common anymore, if you know what I mean. Seems to be a lost art on most forums.

Sorry I was taken in the wrong way.....never meant to offend or slight anyone or the company. They do have nice products. I just prefer to fabricate my own, as I said it helps me relax.
Just a note mine does not look "cheeseball homemade" :-) I beleive it actually looks quite nice

I assume by "accellerator assembly", you mean bracketry to hold the throttle and downshift cables on the manifold. Barring a trip to the boneyard, Mr. Gasket and Moroso both make inexpensive and functional items for SBF. Lokar is both beautiful and pricey stuff. My .$02
