Umm, I know this isn't the right forum, but you guys are the smartest crew on FTE, the Smallblock forum is just a bunch of kids who know nothing (not that I have anything against a bunch of kids who know nothing). Ok, so my choke is Vacuum Operated, but I have no clue where to plug it in. The carb is a 2V on my 302, likely to be a Motorcraft 2100 series. The part number on the side of the choke control vacuum thingy is 5100C. Any help on what goes where in the ways that I plug it into Vacuum will be greatly appreciated!!
I've never heard of a vacumn choke on those carbs. If it was vacumn is wouldn't have a gradual choke opening. It would be open or closed. They are either manual, electric or two heat activated ones. You could have a heat one that is supposed to hook up to the egr system on the intake manifold.
Edit: After talking with you in the chat room. I've drawn the conclusion you must have the straight hot air choke.
Which is #2 in this pic. Just ignore the electrical connector.

I use #3 on my choke, it is powered by a wire from Stator of the Alt. Keeps the choke open when running. Dont , however have the hot air hooked up. Roy.
I have had nothing but trouble with these (my inability to set it up is the problem) So I trashed it and set up a choke with a choke cable..... Not sure iit would work with this carb, but it is quite nice to have a cable insted of another mechanism to keep up with... Just my 2 cents...
dont you just love the 302/C4? I think I would do something horribly wrong given the chance to use a cable choke, wasnt trying to make you feel bad or chastize you if that was the way you pecieved it.
