Ball-Joint average life?
My 2003 Taurus Wagon with 50,000 miles on it will need new lower ball joints soon, as they "Are showing signs of lateral wear." I can attest to this as it pulls on the road and the steering is a little loose, and there is a light noise over some bumps. Whilt CT roads are terrible as we don't invest enough money into them (but that's a different conversation), I think a ball joint should last more than say 60,000-70,000 miles if it hasn't been used off road or with extremly heavy loads. I am not arguing that they will need replacing soon, but shouldn't they last longer than this?
