Flowmaster vs Magnaflow vs ????????

I am looking to replace my stock muffler with a performance/sound muffler.

What do you recommend?

Which muffler gives me the most sound?

What is the part number?

I am looking to retain the stock side pipe.

TIA, Tim

Flowmaster will be louder, Magnaflow will perform better.

I went with the MagnaFlow because I didnt want a lot of noise - more noise but not a lot. I got it with MagnaFlow. Nice mellow sound. Good growl on acceleration and startup. Quiet at idle. No cab drone ever. Could stand to be a wee bit more aggressive sounding. Better than stock. I like it.

I agree, the first muffler i used was a flowmaster. It was loud at low RPMs but got raspy at higher rpms, and there was a noticeable loss of torque. From that i switched to a magnaflow cat back system, got the power back and then some, and a great sound, not TOO loud, but you knew it had exhaust. Now i have true duals, and still using a magnaflow muffler. I use magnaflow for everything now.

Youll have to go to magnaflows website and find the size and outlet style you need. The larger the muffler, the quieter it will be. When you find a part number, PM me and I can give you a quote on it if you want.

Magnaflow exit pics

Interested in the Magnaflow SISO for 06 f150 cat back. Wondering if anyone has pics of the behind the wheel exit area? MF website is clearly lacking in this area.
Thank you.

I had the kit on my own truck, unfortunately I dont have any pics of it. It exits in the same place as stock, but has a larger stainless steel tip poking out. Its a very nice system, I was happy with it.

If you go with Flowmaster and like a louder sound go with the 40 series. The 50 series are toned down if you like a step above stock.

Check out my gallery. The last 2 pics on the first group of pictures show a pretty good shot. You will love the sound and the performance.

I'm gusssing you had the full 3" system. You think I would lose torque if I just replaced the muffler with a 40 series? Keeping the stock diameter piping I'm not losing THAT much back pressure. Thanks Bob.

I could be wrong on what I remember the muffler guy telling me but another reason, besides mellow tone, that I went with MagnaFlow over FlowMaster is that the FM had a 1 yr warranty and the MF has a lifetime warranty.
