I use the factory drop in, but sometimes wonder if I should go spray-in(6 of one, half dozen of the other)

It is your money. A lot of the information out there pertaining to drop-ins is old school. I cannot vouch for all manufacturers, but I know that the drop in I bought from Ford at delivery fits like a glove! Some of these things you hear about them moving all around, completely ruining the bed is bunk. I even saw some spray in company say that these drop-ins fly out! Maybe when they first hit the market.... all modern ones are under rail with NO chance of moving. A couple hundred sounded a whole lot better to my ears, than 600+ for the spray in.

I had a drop in when I first got my '04. Nothing really wrong with it, I just personally think the spray in looks 100% better. Plus the fact, with a drop in, you get accumulation sometimes UNDER the liner. At least with mine it did and I couldn't see it until I took it out. I had a TON of little rocks and mud under there!

So I dropped a little over $400 for my LineX and it looks fantastic.

I think it's all personal choice.

I had a Load-Lok drop in bed liner in my 1991 F-150 since new. When I recently traded it in, the dealer gave me his last Load Lok in stock for the 6.5 foot bed (new truck is a 2006 STX Scab 4x4). I liked the Load Lok because it has several slots for 2x4s that you can pretty much lock anything into place. The dealer told me Load Lok recently went out of business. I never had a problem with the old one in 15 years, so I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I had a Line-X liner sprayed in the week I bought my truck and love it. It looks great handles anything you put in it. I figured I will get my money back when I decide to sell the truck.

I just had mine Rhino-Lined 6.5ft $389.00...Personally I think the big difference is that when you put something on Rhino or Line-X it stays there. Drop-ins let cargo slide all over so you have to tie it down or use a cargo net/bar, but I've had both and I agree that drop-ins have come a long way. I also considered the "bed rug" but they were pretty unresponsive when I requested a sample more than twice, I wasn't going to beg them to take my money!

I have had all my trucks, including this one sprayed with Line-X. I will suggest one thing however if you do a spray in, you do not have the amount of impact protection with a spray in like you do a drop in. In all my previous trucks, and the one I have now, I run a drop in bed mat (thick rubber). This takes care of the impact if I drop something, etc. Both have pros and cons, drops in for me are way to slick, and everything has to be strapped down. My thoughts.

You talking about my post simply stating a FACT that I used Line-X? I did not say anything about any other liners being better or worse, just the fact that I used Line-X and a bed mat.

I've used all kinds of bed liners but I found the best is simply use a bed mat that costs well under $100. It keeps stuff from sliding around like it does with a drop in. The spray in doesn't prevent the dents that you get in the wheel wells and doesn't age well. If you do get dents in the bed, you buy a drop in when you get ready to sell the truck to hide the dents. If you decide you must have a bedliner, you can put a bed mat in anyway to keep stuff from sliding around.
