Slow, look into a brake power unit for a 1979 F350 4x4 with a 460 cid engine.

Here the complete brake power unit, Advance Auto Part Number 509337.

Here is the brake power booster, Advance Auto part Number5473350.

It does seems like they will interchange with the current brake setup on your 1979 F250 4x4 truck.

Okie dokey..

VIN: F26SCEH5623
Model: 1979 F-250 4x4 crew cab

Pretty sure it has the single caliper brakes.. it has a D44 HP front axle. I installed a D60 but it has the same brakes on it.

No cruise control. It's pretty bare bones.

The brake booster end has 'FT45' stamped in it.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to change the pedal assembly at all.. is there not an f-350 application for 79 that will bolt up on that end? That said I do have a 76 f-250 CC 4x4 with 1 ton running gear (where I got the d60 front from) that may have what I need.

[edit] Ah, sorry, didn't read the latest post. I'll look into that.. THANKS A LOT GUYS!

Here's the engine I'm putting in it:

It's pretty hopped up.. should work well enough for my needs.

Pretty Sharp looking 300 cid engine.
Looks like your going with the electric fuel pump.

anna, That's why I link the re-builders page so people have a part number from one company to cross-reference.

Some parts place are online and if they have the URL can go look it up themselves if people from here get all the info ,write it down and take it with them.

George Frasier, is your brake power booster the same style as shown on Post #28?

Angry Brake Problems ALSO--HELP

I have a 1976 Ford F250 and I also changed the master cylinder and brake booster. Now it has excessive brake drag. It stops but the brake wont come back.... Could it be that the booster is to small? Help...

bphillips, welcome the best Ford Entusiasts Forum around.
Have fun.
On left of page you will find Forums sponsors and plentiful of parts for our classic Ford Trucks. On top of each specific forum you will find tips, guidlines and such.

The brake pedal staying down?
Or are the brakes not fully releasing?

One thing on installing a new booster is to verify the rod length on booster.
Here's a picture with the details and specifications.

Check the rod length coming out of the brake power booster and verify the rod length to spec as shown on link on Post #39.

If the rod length checks, then the brake power booster is faulty.

I answered in your own thread about this problem.

It is always better to start your own thread than piggyback someone else's thread as it confuses the helpers.
