Heated Mirror - not heating

Hi all

Before I start tearing things apart.....

any advice on trouble shooting a heated mirror that doesnt heat? Passenger side works fine, driver side doesn't. I have 2002 with extended towing mirror and without the turn signal light....

I have the opposite problem. My drivers side works fine and my passenger doesn't. I am told the elements burn out easy when they are left on too long.
