FMPP Valve Covers!!!

I have read all the comments I could find regarding the clearance problems with the Ford Motor Sports tall aluminum valve covers not fitting into the engine bay with the A/C box and/ or brake booster on the left. My question is has anyone found a nice alternate pair of polished chrome plated aluminum valve covers that will fit and still cover the roller rockers! I did see a comment about "Billet Aluminum" in Calif. I think. Any others?

I have 2 pair of aluminum valve covers I got off ebay, they are the old style finned aluminum covers, not sure if they will cover roller rockers. Those are the only ones I know of. We put the tall valve covers in my friends f-150 with no a/c and had to shim the brake booster with some washers so it was cocked to one side and up a little, works good. I wish ford motorsprots would make their finned valve covers for the 460 that match the air cleaners.

The easiest and fastest way is to replace the F150/250 brake booster with a 9 1/2" F350 booster.

I have that to do before my Ford Racing Valve covers go on.

Do you have cruise control ?

Yes, I do have the cruise control Mil1lon, and I know it will be a problem or come up with an ingenious idea to keep it. I see your point about the brake booster, but what about the a/c box, any suggestions

What engine do you have? Will doubling up the gakets give you enough clearance?

the engine is a original equipped 460. It has all the extras, a/c, ps,pb,cruise, etc. Would really like to find out before buying a set if they will fit without mods!

Yes, Mil1ion, I saw that post earlier, but I didn't want to mod the a/c box only as last resort. It's hard to believe that no one has not found an alternate source of covers that would fit and look as good as fms covers.

It's the engine design and the angle of the heads ..... nothing more.

One question came up, is there any height different between the stock 460 heads and the fms cobra jet heads that may compound the spacing for the tall fms valve covers?

quick question for Dennis

Viewed your pics re. the tall valve cover install, and saw that you are running a right angle thermostat housing. My truck has the vertical housing, but would like to switch to right angle. Question: do you have a part number for the upper radiator house you're using? Thanks, John
