I have come to the point of where I am going to quit messing around with the crappy old wiring on my 69'. To anyone who has expierence installing these kits, Are they actually complete? By that I mean can I honestly rip all of my wiring out and start fresh? I have heard the Painless is better, (waterproof fuses ect) Im not going to be crossing any lakes or rivers, im not so worried about that, But it seems to be about 100 difference between the two. So bottom line, can I just strip every crappy old wire off my truck and "plug" either of the two harnesses in ?? (take that with a grain of salt)
Don't know about the painless, but installed a centech on a 69 and it worked out great. Even allows for fuel injection. By no means plug and play but probably the closest thing out there. If ease of install is a big concern stay far away from the Ron Francis. It's a great harness if you are building a streetrod or kit car. You have to assemble everything, you basically get a fuse box, rolls of wire and connectors.
I have installed a few of the Centech harnesses and they are a very good kit to install with plenty of options.
I have never used the Painless wiring Bronco specific harness. I've heard good things about the new kit, but I haven't been able to install one myself. THe universal harness was a lot like the Francis harness. Just a fuse block and lengths of wire.
