Bench seat help

New guy here to these older trucks.

Picked up a cherry 79 F150 this a.m. All good except the seat... doesn't go back far enough for me. I didn't pay any attention to it when I test drove it. I'm 6'1 250 lbs. My knees are way up under the steering column. I wish it would go back another 4-5".

Any ideas on how to extend the seat without any extensive modification?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you sure its all the way back? I'm 6'5 230 and am perfectly comfortable with the seat all the way forward (its an aftermarket seat but i wouldn't think ti would be much different.....and I got used to having it forward cause I had speakers behind the seat in HS and couldn't put it back w/o crushing em.)

The bench seat in my 79 squeaks against the back of the cab with a passenger. Maybe you don't have the origional seat or location of it. Good luck.

That seat back goes as far back as the seat back just barely touching the cab.

Maybe something is blocking its travel

When I bought my truck the seat would not go back all the way either, but after I removed all the stuff the PO had stashed behind the seat it went back much better :-)

also might check the linkage for the seat, I have had numerous times have to put the wire on that goes over to the passenger side. People smash stuff under and that messes it up too.

mine goes to touching the cab on my 79 and im 6'2 190-200lbs and on long drives its :-( but i have knee problems and I usually dont have a problem, you kind of have to get used to it. I was used to driving my 95 suburban where you can go to the back lol, its kind of a thing you get used too

Mine goes back plenty. I am 6 foot 2 and have my seat about halfway back. When it's all the way forward, I still fit fine, albeit not as comfortable.

What does annoy me is the **** for the door window. I adjusted it so it doesn’t hit my knee when the window’s up, but when it’s down, it rubs my knee… that gets annoying… I have bony knees.
