Anyone out there done a color change on their interior? I would like to go to Black. It is red now but I think the only thing I can't find is the rear door panels for the interior. Anyone know where I can buy some? Or have some for sale?
I prefer not to paint as it sooner or later will peel.
I was once told that there are no replacement inner door panels for the rear. The only place to get them is off a donor vehicle. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
I am converting mine to black paint with red "softgoods" So far I have the dash done and it is looking gread with black metal and red dash pad. That might be and option. It might also look pimped when I am done though.
also if you wanna paint them you could try Krylon Fusion.....Its actually made to bond into plastic so it won't chip or anything. I used it on the fender flares of my jeep when they faded....that was probably a year ago or so and they still look good. I wouldn't paint them w/ anything else though. My dad used some kind of "dye" or something to change the door panels in our 69 Vette from red to black and it looks like crap, theres red poking through everywhere.
I got pics in my gallery of my interior after i panted it and I uses Krylon fusion for dash pad, door panels, arm rests, and visors. Otherwise I used regular primer and paint.
I repainted the plastic in my truck with Duplicolor Vinyl-whatever-it's-called and it works great! I even had someone's evil clawed cat bust out of its carrier and claw its way out the vent window, leaving scratch marks on the door panel, but they don't even break the surface of the 'paint!' It looks like scratched plastic, not scratched painted plastic.
