Ranger rag joint
I have an '88 Ranger, 2.9, 5 speed manual with 3"body lift.
I have seen in some discussions of a steering 'rag joint' repair / replacement kit, or u-joints available to replace the rag joints.
Since I raised the body the steering angle is not what it used to be and is taking the toll on the steering joints. I have searched, but found nothing so far for the aformentioned after market parts. I have another steering shaft, but would prefer to fix the problem rather than put it off. I guess that I probably am not searching by the proper part name.
Any one have a source or know about this?

Ok nobody liked the rag joint thing, so . . . .
I am asking again if anyone knows of a manufacturer for a replacement lower steering shaft for the aformentioned ranger.
This is the part with the two rubber disk "u joints" on it.
I know I have seen a replacement with universal joints on them but I can't find it now.. Or a replacement kit would be fine.
Any suggestions?

Ag, if there was a link there it disappeared, thanks.
I found info after further searches and it turns out there are a couple of mfg's. for this stuff, and, its spendy!
The two I found are Borgeson and Flaming River. Nice stuff, but I will go with the spare I have in the wreck in the back yard, it was free and so are the parts.
I pulled that today with little effort, so when the one in the 4x goes tango uniform I have the replacement, or if it rains and I am bored.
