Actually You Can Have Remote Keyless Entry Without Any Keypad, Just A Fob. More Than Likely It Would Have Come On A Power Package That Would Have Included Cruise Control, Power Locks And Windows. I Dont Know The Rules On Posting A Vin On Here, But If You Can Get It To Me I Could Run The Vin To Check For Factory Options The Vehicle Was Built With.
I just went through the same thing. I didn't get a fob with the truck, but suspected ithad remote locks. Someone on this group said to turn the key from off to on 8 times. On the 8th time, leave the key on, and if it is equiped with remote locks, they doors will lock and unlock by themselves. I tried it, and sure enough, mone had it. Then all I had to do was get a fob from a F150, Ranger, or explorer and programmed it to my locks. The way you do that is, on the eight time, when the doors lock and unlock, you press one of the buttons on the fob, and it's programmed. So simple, even a dummy like me could figure it out.
