i own a 1989 ford f-150 two wheel drive. it has a 300 six, and a four speed trans...well yesterday i got in pushed the clutch pedal and and snap!! the bracket that holds the brake and clutch pedals broke out!!??? well today i ran down to the local salvage yard(not really it's like 50 miles) and wrenched a bracket that appears similar but i'm not for sure?? what is this bracket called, and how do i replace mine easier than the one i wrenched out????????? it wasn't real pretty!! i bought a haynes manual for what ever it was worth, i looked front to back and never found this part. any help would be appreciated!!!
Looks like the clutch and brake pedal share the same "bracket".That is what it is called in my 88 manual. From what I can see there is a shaft that goes through this bracket with bushings on it that the clutch and brake pedal share also. If you got the one out at the salvage yard it should be the same procedure for you vehicle and you have had a bit of practice. From the looks of the drawing there is no real easy way here. It is in a difficult location. Take your time.
