Starting Problems

My 91 F250 7.3 is getting very hard to start. I have to bleed the air out every morning to get it to start.I had an injector leakoff tee that was leaking I replaced it but the problem is still there. If I park the truck on a downward slope it will start fine. But if I park on a level surface like my driveway or the parking lot at work it will start and run for about a second or two and shutdown then I have to be bleed off the air to start. I have replaced the mechanical pump. The leakoff tees and hoses have been replaced. Is it the injector pump losing prime?

Sounds like air getting in the fuel system which allows drain off, you would be best to get a complete return line kit. Since you disturbed/replaced that one T you have probably disturbed another. Just like a dog chasing it's tail.

Either one of these places are good........

pl is right, once you disturb one, the others are automatically disturbed. Change all the orings and return caps and change the o rings on the fuel filter to injection pump o rings too ,, they fit over the steel line. Also look at the lift pump to make sure the weep hole isnt damp, a sign of diaphragm failure.

When you do return lines or O rings, do them all at the same time or you will be changing them for years.

Once you change them, do not disturb them or you will be changing them again.
The hot fuel hardens the O rings in a short amount of time, if they get moved they will not seal.

I replaced all of the leak off tees and o-rings. Where is the check valve at the fuel header? Is it replaceable or serviceable?

I believe it is the line coming off of the filter housing that is in the center right hand side (facing toward back of engine) that goes to the injectors. Not sure if it is servicable or replaceable. I have heard of people removing it all together.
