2007 F-250 Vibration
I just purchased a 2007 f-250 5.4 liter regular cab super duty truck with a service body for commercial HVAC use. This truck has a vibration at speeds from 40 (the worst) to 70 mph felt in both the steering wheel, the pedal and the rear tires. The dealer rotated the drive shaft and said the tires were under inflated. They put 80 psi in both the front and rears and this reduced the vibration but did not stop it. If I reduce the tire pressure back to 60 psi for a softer ride the vibration is as bad as it was before. I think the tires are out of round? I do not have that much weight in the truck. The tires are load range e continentals. Any suggestions or similar problems with your truck? I feel a 2007 truck should drive better than this. I see Ford has experienced many vibration problems in the past by searching the forums on this site. Thanks Tony

Congrats on the new truck and welcome to the board. A 2007, I would bring it back (again) to the dealer and have them take care of it. You just spent alot of good money and should get a perfect working truck for it. Vibration at those speeds do sound like tires or balancing problems. Maybe even defective/warped rotors. Either way, it is covered and have them fix it.

Tony,I have the same exact problem with my 2007 f250 4x4.I just had it in the shop for 4 days with no luck. They swapped tire, driveshafts, and shimmed it.I get the vibration soon as I hit 40,altheway up to atleast 60 mph.I feel it in the pedal, and floor boards.I really think it's something in the front.I wonder if we may need a steering stabilizer?Mine's going back in tuesday,we'll see,Al.

I have a similar problem with my new 2006 F350. It's going back to the dealer this week and I don't want it back until it's fixed. The vibration starts when the torque converter locks up and the driveshaft is spinning faster than the engine. I've had 2 tires replaced and a wheel repalced and it's a little better, but not much. I was told the tires(Conti's) were within specs. It's either a tire issue or an out of balance driveshaft.

"TIRES TIRES TIRES" I just bought my second F250 2007 supercab, after totaling my 3 month old F250 2006 supercab. They both had the same vibration starts at 40mph and fades away at 70mph. The service department at my Ford dealer in St Joe MO. fought with this problem for a couple of weeks,I was ready to make Ford take it back. Then they took off the Continentals and put on a diferent brand rated the same, the diference was so big it's just hard to put into words. My 6 year old son even commented "my ears don't shake and tickle anymore when I ride in your truck dad" what more can I say than that. Now my 07 tickles his ears again and he doesn't like it, the truck is a week old time to take it in and make it right. Borrow a set of tires from another truck you'll see tires make the difference. You will not want to put the original tires back on.

2007 F-250 Vibration
It has to be the tires the way the vibration increases if I reduce the tire pressure from 80 to 60 psi. The tires were already re-balanced at the dealer. Drive shaft run out was checked. I am pushing to have the tires replaced period. I found out I have another problem. I cannot put fuel in the vehicle without trickling it in. They extended the filler hose for the service body and it is backing up. Something else that needs addressed. As you guys can tell this is a very new truck. First time filling it. Thanks

When I bought my 06 2WD SD with 17" wheels I first test drove one with Continental tires on it and the sreering wheel had a real bad shake to it. The wife said they could just rebalance the tires. There was no way I was buying a new truck that had a problem. Drove a differant 06 2WD SD with Perilli tires and the thing drove great and thats the one I bought. After 5000 miles not a single problem. Good luck.

Just picked up my 3rd Ford F350 SD, and I never owned one with the coil springs on the front -- Up to this point all were leaf springs, my question is when I cross over an expansion joint on the highway the steering wheel agressively jerks back and Forth but smooths out. My other SD's leaf springed, all had steering stabilizers and I never found that much road noise at the steering wheel, The dealer has adjusted the air in my BFG 18" tires to the 75 psi and the tech on the road test says thats normal -- Is this normal on the new front end -- Thanks Jim
