Nissan makes its own chassis. I have never heard that one. Except for the ugliness, and styling is subjective, the Dana 44 axle fiasco is the Titan's only real negative.

Nissan's auto trans are JUNK also. I owned an 88 2wd Nissan it wasn't a bad truck. Then I bought a 90 4x4 Nissan it was the biggest piece of **** I ever owned. I wouldn't buy a NISSAN if they were $10,000 less than any other truck. A friend of mines brother just LEMON LAWED a 2004 Nissan because of nothing but troubles. NISSAN IS JUNK_JUNK_ JUNK. PERIOD

Every brand has the odd lemon. Just do a search for "Super Duty" and Lemon Law.

I heard about issues with the brakes, but those titans are quick...or maybe the ford is just too heavy.

Yeah, diff issues and brake shudder were the main issues I was aware of... My dad used to own a Nissan (Patrol Cab-Chassis), it was one tough truck... He ended up putting a 6.5l turbo Chev diesel in it (with the stock drivetrain)
However it is a bit different in style to the Nissan trucks you guys see...

The Ford is heavier, with all of that sound dampening, and the advertised beefier frame. The tow ratings say it all, 7000lbs on the Titan, 9900 (If one has the stones to tow that with a half ton truck) on the Ford. The differences must be more then just the little capacity sticker.

Tow ratings are one of the poorest ways there are to compare vehicles, as the marketing department seems to have a lot of influence due to "bragging rights". Tow ratings have no legal basis, like GVWR, except maybe in the warranty department. Examples abound, but here are two.

Honda Ridgeline, 5000lbs vs F-150 6-cylinder, something like 3000lbs (dont have owners manual in front of me).

Chevy C-1500 4.3/automatic/3.08, 4000lbs vs S-10 4.3/automatic/3.08, 5000lbs. Why? Because the GCWR is calculated for the powertrain only and the S-10 is about 1000lbs lighter to start with.

Crawl underneath and compare axles, frames, rear ends, driveshafts, etc. between the two.
The debate will be over and the Ford will sell itself.

I agree with you on this!! We had an Xtera and the day we took it home there was a trans leak. Trying to get the service to get it fixed was an act of GOD!! I wouldnt buy another NISSAN if they were $1000! Customer service at Nissan sucks big time.

I towed around 9k with my 05 ext cab 150 4x4 5.4 and never felt that the truck would be over taken by the load I was pulling. 65-70 mph down the road and pulled strong.
