Supercharger???
I recall someone mentioning that you could get a supercharger for our older IDI's. I'm wondering if it does exist, could you get more power out of it combined with a set of headers than a turbo? Probably would be way more expensive but its just a thought...Any ideas?

Yeah, maybe a guy could rig up a belt drive unit somewhere. Definately more money than a turbo though.

You think it would be more money??? If the turbo kits are $2500ish... what is a supercharger worth??? *** EDIT *** Vortech units are $2500+ .... so yes... more money!!!

I was actually thinking this the other night.... dunno though...

i saw a 6.9 on ebay a few months ago that had a supercharger on it, guy said he didnt feel any real improvement on hp, but that again, he may not have put a bigger exhaust on or turned the fuel up...... Dustin

Do you really think some who put a supercharger on his IDI didn't do any other mods for power??!!!!

Hey I know this is a big thing for an IDI but I'm not all that impressed....compare this supercharged IDI with Dave S's IDI...well I'd take Dave's hands down!!

What a lash up! I'd be surprised if that thing gave him 10 hp. A turbo will kick that things .... butt.

That's what I'm thinkin too. The blower on an 8V-92 pulls around 15 hp. Could you imagine changing an injector pump on that thing?
