Acceleration Hesitaion

My 84 Bronco II 3speed C5 automatic seems to be having a problem for the last few months since I put a new carb on it. If I get onto the gas to fast the truck will hickup and try to stall. This is just if I get on the throttle to fast. I put a new fuel pump in, and have checked over the carb many times to see if theres anything wrong. My truck also Diesels a little after turn off, so my timing may be a touch off, but would this cause the hesitation upon acceleration?

Timing may cause this, but you may also want to check your float adjustment.

If the timing was right befor and you didn't change it it should still be good. Even though it's a new carb it also sounds like the Accelerator pump is either bad or not working properly. To check remove the air filter and open the choke plate by hand look down inside and try the throttle. You should see the gas squirting in a good strem, if not there's your problem. They have been known to be bad from go especially if they come from south of the border. You could also have a simple vacume leak.
