Soft Tonneau Cover Question

Looking to put a soft tonneau cover on my '94 Flareside.

Extang is the only one I've found. Looks like my two options are velcro or snaps.

Which and why ?

Some covers are made more plyable than others in cold weather ( they still stretch) With snaps can be a bear to snap when cold on some covers. with velcro easier to put cover back on but any I've seen Don't hold well after while and don't like snow load. If you live where it snows try to get extra bow support .I'd get the snaps . But you get what you want . Extang has been around a long time . I sure there are other cover manufactorers out there with cover for you. You are running into same problem I had when wanted folding hard cover was told my 96 down was obsolete and custom order. With the 100,000's of Fseires on road yet why are they obsolete? Good luck

Thanks for your reply.
Live in Cocoa Beach, Florida, no snow plenty of water loading if the thing sags.
Looked at several brands some list the year but state short bed or long bed with no further particulars. Don't want to buy a pig in a poke

Extang in the only one so far specifically listing one for a 1994 F150 Flareside.

I live in VT and we get plenty of snow and my Extang Saber Tonneau Cover is strong enough to resist a lot of snow on it. Go to AutoAnything.com and they have them listed for a 94 Flareside with a 7' bed. Mine has been on my 04 Heritage now for over a year and no problems yet plus I can even take it off or put it on when it is cold out.

i got a soft cover on my 96 with a reg shortbox, it snaps down, the snaps ride on rails along the sides, its very adjustable. my only camplaint is as its aged its got a little loose, so at highway speeds theres some clunking noise, but with the radio playing and the exhaust the clunking isnt realy that noticeable

Understand that tactic. Used it on a rod knock, figured when I couldn't drowned it out any longer with my loud exhaust & radio it became time to pull the engine and fix it.

Here at Shur-Co where we manufacture the Truxedo Lo Profile we can do custom covers. Our covers are soft covers with Velcro on the side. We don't currently make a cover for your truck, but we might be able to custom build one for you. Give us a call at the factory and we can ask you some questions to see if it's possible.
