self background checks?

Hey, folks. I'm wondering where I would go to have a background check done on myself or to see if there is an issue with identity theft. Is there a state office to go to? I'm open to all advice. Thanks. -- Justin

In your town find a property manager they would probably do it for you for a few bucks.

If you think your identity has been stolen check your credit reports. You can do it for free once a year by going to the big three's websites. If something looks amiss then contact your local police departments. No matter where the theft of information occured or where it is used the "Identity Theft" always occurs out of your home so your local law would take the report. You can run a background check on yourself using any number of websites. Try http://www.zabasearch.com/ . all the sitess will do an initial free check but the information is minimal and useless. If you want a full report you will have to pay.
