when i got my concealed handgun permit they did a CBI(colorado bureau of investigation) backround check and it was like $50.00. you may want to check if your state has something like that. if you want to check on them nation wide contact the N.C.I.C(national criminal information center) www.fas.org/irp/agency/doj/fbi/is/ncic.htm
Is it a long process to get your concealed weapon permit? Are there any restrictions?
I am interested in doing this...
Thanks
no, its not bad with the new law. you have to take an approved handgun course, about $150.00 and that can be done in one full day(8 hours). you take the cert. from the course to you county or city sheriff fill out some paperwork and pay them $100.00 plus you have to bring a cashiers check for the CBI backround check (about $52.00) they will not accept a personal check or cash. then wait 3 months for them to process it and you have one.
1) Glocks are durable, reliable, easy to use, have a unique safety system that makes them similar to a DA revolver to operate. Glock owners can chime in.
2) Background check: The "free" part of this depends on what you need. If you have taken an application for rental property, for example, you can require references and employment info and call to verify yourself.
Use the "check and confirm" method if possible....you check the address direct with the previous Land lord, and try to confirm it through the employment check, and so forth.
It is hard to get anyone to give much info these days, and some is by mail only with a signed authorization from the person you are checking.
If you are just snooping, things get harder.
For real credit info, someone is going to pay. You can't get your buddy at the used car lot to run a check anymore because those inquiries stay on the person's record and you will be found out with nasty consequences.
You can go snoop around where they live and ask questions, but this becomes very obvious very quickly.
Anyway, it depends on what you need it for etc.
More details will yield more free advice and the opportunity to be led into real trouble.....
Yes, I agree, what is this for?? If you just want to know a criminal record, then make a friend at the PD. Better be a good friend though, or show that you have a right/resonable reason to be inquiring in such a thing.

P.S. Not to highjack the thread, but I recomend Kember pistols. Don't take me wrong, there is nothing wrong at all with the Glocks, but they just aren't Kember quality (IMO).
That's Kimber, and they are mostly 1911 style .45's. Good pistol but I think Glock offers some smaller framed models and then there is that SA vs. DA issue....
And on the background check, if it is something juicy, let us hear. Use the big words and you won't trip the language filter. Come on......
I am at work so I was in a hurry typing my last message...think I mispelled/left a word out. Sorry about that.
What makes Glocks so good?
glock handguns are standard issue for more U.S police departments than all other brands combined.
i carry a glock 19 9mm mainly because of the size, it is small but will hold 16 rounds(11 now with the mag cap. law) i also have a .45 acp, .357 mag and a .44 mag at home for protection. as far as a good all around caliber i would go with a .40 cal and if you can swing the extra $$$ get the compensated model they shoot real nice
If you are doing a background check for a job or for letting people rent, the ask for a full references and call all of the people listed. If you are the landlord you can pull a credit check from one of the firms, As someone else stated if you have a friend in law enforcement then you could hope that they possibility look into the individual.
CCW’s vary from state to sate. Mine cost $250 and it was a two day class. I also carry a H&K USP Compact as used by Special Forces and have Glock’s also. Both are good choices.
Google them first "Bracket their Names" and try variations on their name, try Intelius.com, and-or KnowX.com. You may have to pay something. Also check sex offender list, and some states have list of felons. Check prison list too, will still be active after they are released, varies state to state.
