The check engine light comes on for a couple of days and goes off for a few weeks and it's been doing this probably for about 2 years. I take it to Autozone to get it checked every time it stays on for a few days and there scanner comes up blank like its not even plugged in. They've told me a couple different things, some tell me it could be made so only a Ford dealer can get the code and others have told me its a bad fuse in the ECM. Has anyone else had this problem? If it's a fuse then where is it located, I didn't see anything in the fuse panel? It's a 2000 Ranger 3.0 Liter. Any help is appreciated.
No, no amps I just smoke a lot of cigarettes when I drive. The lighter hasn't worked for about a year, I figured the actual lighter was blown. The older Rangers and Bronco IIs had the cigar lighter with the horn so I didn't even think about a fuse because the horn worked.
