Uh, Vern? That's mostly geometry and only a tiny bit of math f'enders is talking about.
On the bright side, math could still be your strong point!George
Truck restoration - does the fun ever start?

Do you have any idear how distractin you is when I am trying to lern Vern some long division and other fancy cipherin?
Maybe some of us couldn't afford them hi falutin skools out east. Did you ever think about that maybe.
Now pay no mind to him Vern, George ain't had no proper Volare math besides what me and John has taught him. Sometimes people poke fun at stuff they don't understand. Now where was we..............

begin him out slow... don't be tryin to reckon him to his gozintas yet...
be starting him on pluses firstnaught plus naught is naught
for you no it... Vern'l be a edukated as we is.... specialy in the Volare numbers..
hily edukated and kewl John
Thats a reel gud idear. We can stay one lesson ahead and Vern will keep thinkin were genyises.
Vern,
If you can tolerate further advice from Jethro and Johnthro, go measure your F1 frame height and distance from the firewall to the radiator support please and we'll proceed with the master plan. A PIC of an F1 frame with motor and front sheetmetal removed would be very handy too. Somebody around here can help us out with that.

Okay, I can't believe you guys talked me into trudging out into the snow to the garage where it's 5 degrees this morning to measure my truck, but I did anyway. Remember, it's an F-3 (not an F-1). The measurement from the center of the firewall (which has a three inch recess by the way) to the center of the bolt hole where the radiator support would be mounted if it had one in it....drum roll please... is 35 inches.
I don't know how much that is in Volare math. I DID attend schools in the east but Volare math was not an accredited subject there, so I had to go with Trigonometry and Solid Geometry to gradiate. Spelling is not my stong suit either.
The next time you're outside, get the frame rail height too. 5 inches or whatever. Interested in the depth of the frame notch required. May be the same as a 53 but as you know............we gotta do the Volare math

We have finished with the original question for this thread. I can think of a half dozen important issues to resolve regarding potential differences in an F3-Volare install. If you would like to discuss them now, please start a new thread with a proper title so any disinterested stockers will know to steer clear. It's up to you of course whether you start one now.

Guess we've covered everything up to his point. I'm sure I'll have more questions when I actually start installing this thing. Right now I'm just lining up my ducks. BTW, the channel width in my F-3 is 4 inches at the axle centerline, although it gets a bit wider in other places.

Guess we've covered everything up to his point.>>>

Wanna bet? Just start a thread when you are ready. I can think of a number of potential issues with the switch to F1/F3. Just launch a thread when you please.
