Last year I purchased a instrument cluster that appeared to fit a "bread type " truck. What I found was a perfect fit for the 57-60 dash panel. Meaning it had all four gauges ( fuel, temp, alt., and oil ) and a new speedometer! It measured 24"x7 3/4" with the cluster off to the right side. It also had two round spaces that appeared to be for a tach and a vacume gauge on the left with the steering column slot 1" off center to the left. Ford numbers were C7 meaning 1967. The cluster will fit the 57-60 dash panel for those of you who want the original dash with gauges instead of idiot lights and still retain the stock look. Just thought I'd pass this info on.
Do you have pix? Just yesterday I was considering chroming the original dash plate I have (with glass piece) and using the original holes for gauges, but I don't have the gauges! Wow.... I have a '59 F100 Styleside. Do you think it'll fit? I would LOVE to get it if you're selling it?
Please let me know. E-mail would be quicker, since I check it more often.... Thanks!!!
I just double-checked: I don't think we're talking about the same thing. My gauge cluster measurements are quite a bit smaller than the measurements you posted AND my speedometer is in the middle with two smaller openings on each side. Bummer...
While on the subject of gauges, what do you 48-50 guys use? I don't like digital at all and was hoping to find some old fashioned black faced gauges (like old Stewart Warners) and mount them where the original instrument cluster is. I don't know how I'm going to do that yet. I know you can get polished aluminum housings, but I just don't like the polished aluminum look. I'd prefer something a little more mundane. Is there something else available or is this something I'll have to make myself. Any ideas?

These are very nice billet aluminum dash inserts for your F-1 pickup
Maybe I didn't make myself very clear. I gave the measurements off of the dash that the gauges were "IN". The gauge cluster that is behind the original 57-60 dash plate is what I was referring to. I will try and post pictures tommorrow. They may come cheaper because I bought these on ebay as high bidder. The screw holes were identical for a perfect fit.
You have to post them in a gallery first. Then you will copy and paste the forum codes here. If you need further explanation. Go to the main forum menu. Go to the User Gallery forum. I believe you will find the detailed instructions you need there. Just yell if you still have questions.
I've got one of these panels (off a garbage truck). The big gauges are a mechanical tach and an air pressure gauge. Neither of 'em is a whole lot of use, really, unless you have an air compressor on board and some way to drive the tach. What's more useful is that it has an ammeter and oil pressure gauge instead of idiot lights.

Grant, thanks for the tip. I did look at them and they look better than I thought they would. Maybe the satin finish wouldn't look too out of place in my old truck.

Grant,
I checked with the guy posting this Ebay auction and was able to buy a polished dash insert for my 48 for $39.95 plus $8.50 shipping. Considering that most other places want over $100 (RB's lists them for $129), I got a good deal. If any of you other 48-50 truck owners need a polished or satin finished dash insert, check these out. You can't beat the price.
