Not Charging
I wanted to keep the battery charged up, so I put a charger on the battery. I thought I had the charger set on trickle, but I had put it on fast charge by mistake. Long story short, the voltmeter is reading 10 volts instead of the usual 12.5.
Shame on me for messing up on something so basic. I have the alternator out, so I can get at the egr tube behind the alternator. Any smart guys have a good idea what's bad, or should I just dig out the ohm volt meter. I'll be calling around tomorrow, looking for a parts house that can bench test the alternator. I was just going to replace it because it's ten years old, but it's pricey, so I'd like to know for sure it's bad before I pony up the bucks. Is there a fusable link between bat, and alternator, If so, where is it in the wiring?
Thanks leo
Make sure you have power on the LG/R wire 904 with the key on.
Also make sure all grounds and power connections or clean and OK.
Here is a diagram of your charging system:

If you get 10 volts with another meter on the battery terminals, with the engine off, the battery has a dead cell.
