I have a 2004 B-3000 Duel Sport extra cab with the 3.0 V6. I want to get more powerful sounding exhaust system but i'm not sure of which one would produce the best sound. If any one has any suggestions i would greatly appreciate them.
Check ebay listing for a gibson dual sport exhaust for ranger which will fit your truck. It is just what you are wanting for your truck at a reasonable price.
I run gibson and with alittle fab work am well pleased. Flowmaster 40 seres is the loudest, but loudest don't mean better in my book. I like that deep growl and rumble, it sounds like power.
Flowmasters sound good, but the experts over at (cough) rps say the flowmaster drops you acouple of hp on the dyno, I can't say as I have never owned one, but I've heard plenty and they are loud.
The Gibson has a very pleasant tone, not too much louder than stock. I definately did not want the obnoxious "DROAN" sound that the Flowmasters are famous for!!!
Your tip sure looks good Bob, how old is your system ? I agree with you, a nice tone and a quality product. I've heard flowmasters rust out fast besides being obnoxious.

Hi Wendell,
I put my Gibson on a little over 5 years ago. One other thing I liked about it, it's stainless steel.
I hope you are doing well, it's good to hear from you!!!
"Holly smokes", it sure looks good for 5 years old, mine looked good as well, but it was only a little over a year old. I just had the shop relocate the muffler and make new pipes and install new tips. I had the dual sport that exited behind the rear tire, I had it changed to exit in front of the rear tire (lighting style), that way I could put my spare back in the orignal location. I have stainless as well, I think your system looks really good after 5 years, don't even see any discoloring, you make me glad I choose gibson. I'm fine as frog hair, thanks for asking. It's good to hear from you as well, it doesn't seem like you post as much as you use to, are you getting bored with it, or just busy ? Today it's to cold up here to do anything else besides play on the computer ha ha.

Just been busy....One weekend we went to Manassas, Va. for my 35th high school reunion, one weekend I spent doing the brakes, hoses, wheel bearings, thermostat, etc. on my Ranger before installing my new tires/wheels, and last weekend went to Norfolk, Va. for a wedding.....Plus, I've been busy working on a few new problems at work....My Gibson is a single-side, which doesn't require moving the spare tire....
