I have a 1987 Ford Bronco ll and it just died along the road. Had it moved home and have been working on it ever since. I replaced both fuel pumps, fuel filters and both relays ECC and FP. When I turn the Key on both relays activate but the fuel pump relay only stays activated about 10 seconds and it cuts out the fuel pumps never get voltage to run. Also have replaced the ignition switch. The inertia switch works as I get voltage to the fuel pump connector for about 10 seconds and it cuts out make the relay cut off power to the pump. Also the Computer has been replaced. Any Ideas??

Does the fuel pump even start when you turn the key? After 10 seconds the relay deenergises till there's oil pressure. Try rigging a jumper from the hot to the power to the pump. I don't recal what normal pressure is right now. If you have proper fuel pressure then you need to start checking the ignition circuits. I had a problem with my F-350 like this when it got hot due to a bad pickup in the distributer.
I never get the fuel pump to kick on. The relay clicks off before that ever happens. I have no fuel pressure. I relieved the pressure when I changed the pumps and never got the pumps to kick back in. I am going to jump voltage to the relay tonight and see if the pumps run and if they do it will send me to the ign switch. Do you agree???
Ditto what Matlock states. My experience with fuel pump failure involves stumbling under part throttle and hesitation during acceleration. Check for fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail. Without pulling codes I would suspect the TFI module. There are test procedures on the FAQ page. Good luck.
